S&M#2 - initials of Smoke and Mirror (mirror with larks, smoke screen etc) is a repentance, as alina(lalala) likes to do, to undo and redo. (A pentimento (pentimento in Italian), in paint, is a part of the painting that has been covered by the painter to modify the canvas in depth.)
She plays with herself, with paint, matter, words and letters that almost become shapes. But not that, alina(lalala) also has fun with the world of contemporary art, ironically about its decadence and the obscenity of its economy. This work encourages us to question our relationship to material goods and their true values.
